What is a Codicil?
A codicil is an amendment to a will. Basically, anything that you put in a will can be amended through a codicil. If you want to change the name of an executor, if you want to change the name of a guardian, those are the appropriate things that can be changed via a codicil. There are times when you might want to re-do the will completely, if there are several changes, but that would be something that you would have to sit with your attorney and make sure you're doing the right thing; but a codicil is an amendment and both documents, together, will be probated therough the probate court.
