Suing for Asbestos Exposure

Mesothelioma cases are extremely complex.  We’re talking about exposures to asbestos that took place upwards of fifty-plus years ago at a number of jobsites, to a range of products from pipe coverings, cement, joint compound, boiler products, pumps, valves, gaskets, packing.  And each of these companies has their own set of attorneys that you have to deal with.  They have their own set of documents, and their own specific set of exposures.  

We have to be able to ascertain where all these asbestos exposures took place, which defendants were present at those jobsites or had asbestos products present at those jobsites, and then you have to know those products.  You have to know what type of asbestos they contain.  You have to know how much asbestos they contain.  And you have to know whether these products were such that they had the propensity to release dust that someone would be exposed to.  

And all of those factors go into every single case.  We have anywhere from twenty to sixty-plus defendants in any one case.  So you’re talking about in one single case having to talk about decades worth of exposure to upwards of sixty-plus products and defendants dealing with anywhere from forty to sixty lawyers, because each of these companies is represented by an attorney, and you have thousands, tens of thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands of pages of documents for those products and for those jobsites that have to be distilled and have to be developed before trial.  

So we’re talking about an extensive amount of work, an extremely complex case to put together, and it really requires a lot of time, diligence, and frankly, experience.
