Nursing home neglect or elder abuse cases, unfortunately, are pretty common cases. One or two million Americans over 65 have been injured, exploited or otherwise mistreated by someone on whom they depended for care or protection.
Indications of abuse or neglect can include physical, such as bruises, abrasions, burns or broken bones; sexual, which includes bruising on the breasts or genitals; emotional, which includes withdrawal from normal activities; financial, which would include any change of monetary position; and neglect, which would include bed sores, poor hygiene or weight loss.
If you suspect nursing home neglect or elder abuse, then it’s in your best interests to have someone monitor the elder to try and take care of them.
