Gay and Lesbian people have the same rights as everyone else of course and that’s a timely topic now a days. But marriage rights aside and benefits rights aside in our state it has always been illegal under the New Jersey LAD to discriminate against anyone on the basis of their sexual orientation or their perceived sexual orientation.

I’ve had many cases where people were perceived to be gay or treated as if they were even though they weren’t, and they have those same rights as the people who are gay and are harassed or discriminated against because of their sexual orientation.

So it’s important to remember that even if you are a straight person you can’t’ be harassed or discriminated against just because you are perceived to be gay, and of course if you are a gay person you have the same civil rights as everyone else, you shouldn’t have to put up with that in the workplace and we can help.
