Careless and Reckless Driving
Careless driving is the offense that we deal with quite frequently in the courts in New Jersey. It basically is a charge, catch all charge that alleges that an individual drove negligently for lack of a better term; they weren’t acting reasonably, ok. The distinction between careless driving and reckless driving refers to basically the degree that someone was careless, ok. When their carelessness is grousing, where there is likelihood that someone could be injured. Now we are talking about reckless driving and not careless driving and the two carry different severity of penalties. Reckless you can loose your license, careless you don’t. Reckless you receive considerably more points, careless you do not.
