In the state of New Jersey the law against discrimination doesn’t only apply in the work place it also applies in public accommodation. So for example if you are wheelchair bound and you are trying to enter a business establishment that doesn’t have access for you the LAD provides a remedy.
If you go into a store and they don’t want to deal with you because of your gender or your race or your orientation the law against discrimination provides a remedy for you.
The Law Against Discrimination reaches almost every phase of our lives. The only place it can’t reach is exclusively private clubs, private organizations.
