I’m not a big fan of talking about myself, but since you asked why someone would hire me I’ll tell you. This is all that matters to me in my practice. This is all we do. We do employment rights litigation here, civil rights litigation. I come from mixed roots. I come from a very ethnically, culturally, religiously diverse place – Brooklyn, New York – and I had gay relatives and gay friends. I had black friends. I had Hispanic friends, Asian friends, and still do. And to me, people are just people, and when there are bigots, you want someone who’s gonna help you who not only knows the law, but who cares. I do.
In addition, I’m what’s called a certified civil trial attorney. In our state, the Supreme Court certifies currently about four percent of lawyers. That’s one in every 25. You have to teach a lot of law, try a lot of law and do a lot of law in order to be and stay certified. Certified attorneys have rights that other attorneys don’t have when it comes to representing clients.
In addition, I think, eat and breathe this law. I teach it. I serve on the Board of Governors for the Association of Trial Lawyers for New Jersey. I chair the Employment and Labor Committee. I chair the Employment and Labor presentations at the Boardwalk Seminar and the Meadowlands Seminar for ATLA. I have been published in this area of the law. I teach this area of the law to young trial lawyers and to experienced employment litigators. I have at least 130 lawyers, some of them defense adversaries, who refer work to me because they know that I care and they know the quality of the representation we offer.
