Guardians vs Trustees:
I've been asked the question a lot: "what's a guardian and what's a trustee". They have two completely different roles. They could potentially be the same person, but with different roles. A guardian is named in a document whether it is a will or a revokable trust, to take care of the children when both sets of parents are gone. Until they are no longer minors, they need a guardian, so at the age of 18, the guardian is no longer needed. A trustee is the person that manages the assets fo ra particular trust. It could be a trust for children, it could be a trust for an elderly person. So the guardian manages the actual person, and the trustee manages the assets.
