A lot of people ask me, “Do I really need an attorney?” There's a few questions that you need to ask yourself to answer this question. Was there only property damage in your case? If it’s an auto accident and there was only property damage, then you probably don't need an attorney.
If your house burned to the ground, for example, and you have a homeowners or renters policy claim, then you may need an attorney. It depends on the severity of the damage and it depends on how the insurance company is treating you.
The second question you need to ask is were you severely injured, as a result of the accident or whatever happened. If you weren't severely injured, then you probably don't need an attorney.
The third question you need to answer is was someone else partially at fault for your injuries. Even if you were partially at fault for your injuries but someone was, then you’re probably in need of an attorney. If you were entirely at fault for your injuries, then it’s seriously doubtful that you need an attorney.
