Conditions That Cause Asbestos Exposure

The great amount of the cases that we have handled over more than three decades have involved tradesmen, factory workers, steel workers, and these are people that worked in various building trades such as pipe coverers, pipefitters, sheet metal workers, boilermakers, electricians, plumbers, operating engineers, and a vast host of building trades that have built the infrastructure of this country.  There’s many more that I haven’t mentioned, but those are typically situations where a workman is exposed every day either through their own work, or through other trades being on their jobsite.

But we also have people that worked in small fab shops.  Custodians that worked in schools.  Tool and die shops.  Paper mills.  So the scope is very wide and broad, and although many of the cases come from typical trades, we often find cases of people that have no idea how they were exposed.  They may have become executives in a totally unrelated field.  So we go back to perhaps their naval experience, or their army experience, and then we begin to find exposures that they hadn’t thought about in decades.
