Asbestos Exposure Information

Clients often ask me, how long will this take, and what will I get out of it?  And I can’t honestly and ethically tell them specifically an answer to either one of those.  I tell them that we will work on their case, we will contact them, we will develop the information necessary to put a case on, and we believe a strong winning case as promptly as we can.  We will go to the courts and ask for a trial as quickly as we can get it.  

And our experience has been that we can often get a trial and work the case up and get ready for that trial in less than a year.  But there’s no promise because it’s beyond my control.  It’s in the hand of a judge.  

And with regard to how much money they’re likely to receive in a settlement or award, I can tell them what other people in similar situations have gotten, but I can’t promise anybody anything.  And you know something?  Any lawyer who tells you you’re going to make a million dollars or $2 million or $3 million from an injury, they’re lying to you.  You don’t know.  You can do your very best and you know what you’ve been able to do in the past, but there are too many imponderables and it’s unethical for any lawyer to tell you that.
